"Guanacaste"

Intercultura,
Heredia, Costa Rica

The images in this mural are based on the motifs found in the ceramics of the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The image of the snake located in the middle of the piece is taken from a vessel probably used for holding water. The others, found in the circular forms, were also taken from pottery found in the area. The images all date from around the 15th century A.D.
